Police offer $25K reward in murder of Eastern Pequot man in 2006

Authorities in Connecticut are offering a $25,000 reward in connection with the 2006 murder of a Anthony Hamlin, who was a member of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation.

Hamlin, 40, was murdered on the night was going to move to Virginia. His body was found in a field near the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

"This definitely isn't a cold case," Sgt. John Turner of the State Police Major Crime Squad told The New London Day. "It's something we're always working on, we're just running out of information to follow up on."

Hamlin had worked on the tribe's federal recognition petition, which was rejected by the Bush administration prior to his death. The tribe is recognized by the state.
