Saginaw Chippewa Tribe helps county unemployment rate stay low

Unemployment in Isabella County is among the lowest in Michigan, thanks in part to the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe.

The tribe employs 3,268 people in the county and is always looking for new hires. “There isn’t a day that there isn’t a position posted online," public relations director Frank Cloutier told Central Michigan Life.

The county's unemployment rate in December 2010 was 7.2 percent, which was tied for the second lowest in the state.
