St. Regis Mohawk Tribe in talks over town's case against business

The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York is in talks with the town of Fort Covington in a case against a business owned by a tribal member.

The town claims Twin Leaf Express is violating local building codes. But the tribe says the business is on tribal land.

In addition to asserting jurisdiction over the business, the town has charged the non-Indian manager of Twin Leaf Express for violating the building code.

The case is on hold while the tribe and the town are in talks.
