Seminole Tribe puts name on tobacco brand produced in Virginia

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is putting its name on a brand of cigarettes being manufactured in Virginia.

Tribal leaders visited Virginia's tobacco country on Wednesday to launch Seminole Brands. The products will be sold in Florida and in the Southeast.

“Our tribe is called the ‘Unconquered Tribe’ because out of all of the Indian nations throughout America, only the Seminole remained unconquered by the United States government," Joe Dan Osceola said at the ceremony, The South Boston Virginian-Gazette reported. So we desire to create a bold new product that reflects our spirit and that will show the pride we have in our heritage and our homeland.”
