Osage Nation considers taking over state park set to close

The Osage Nation might take over operations at an Oklahoma state park that is due to close.

The tribe is interested in the 1,100-acre Wah-Sha-She State Park. It's one of seven parks that the state plans to close in order to save money.

"Wah-Sha-She, located on the shores of Lake Hulah, is the name given to this area by Osage Indians and means 'the water people," according to Shop Oklahoma.

The Cherokee Nation is also interested in helping keep some state parks open.
