Students find unclaimed money owed to Haskell University

Haskell Indian Nations University of Kansas has recovered nearly $4,900 from the state's unclaimed property fund.

Two students who are serving as interns for a state lawmaker found out that the tribal college was owed the money.

“This is something we weren’t aware of,” Stephen Prue, who works in the Haskell president’s office, told The Lawrence Journal-World. “It was a little windfall for us. It’s about $5,000 we didn’t have yesterday.”
