The Inspector General at the Interior Department helped uncover a child pornography case as part of a probe into an email sent to a Bureau of Indian Affairs employee.

A couple in Oregon photographed their two children in a sexual manner and sent them over the Internet. Apparently, some of the pictures were sent to the account of a BIA employee, who was fired.

One person eventually admitted guilt to 27 counts of allowing a child to be used in the production of child pornography and the production, possession, transportation, and receipt of child pornography. Two children were removed from the man’s home and placed in protective custody.

The incident was part of the OIG's most recent semi-annual report to Congress.
