The House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs held a hearing this morning on three bills.

The majority of the hearing focused on H.R.1291 and H.R.1234. The two bills provide a fix the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar to ensure that all tribes can follow the land-into-trust process.

Only a small portion went to H.R. 1421. The bill authorizes the Cherokee Nation to construct hydroelectric generating facilities at the W.D. Mayo Lock and Dam on the Arkansas River in Oklahoma
