Muscogee Nation voters headed to polls for primary election





Members of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma will vote in a primary election this Saturday.

Seven candidates are running for principal chief. They are: Sam Alexander; Wilson Bear; Alfred Berryhill, who currently serves as second chief; Mike Flud; Jason Nichols; Bert Robison; and George Tiger.

Eleven candidates are on the ballot for second chief. They are: Judy Aaron; Terrie Anderson; Roger Barnett;, Nathan Buck; David Dunson; Louis Hicks; Anna Marshall;, Donna Faye Martin; Tommy Pickering; Travis Scott; and Jerry Wilson.

If no single candidate receives 51 percent of the vote, the top two vote getters will head to a general election on November 5.

Eight seats on the National Council are also up for election.
