Blaze causes damages for Iowa Tribe's police department





A fire caused an estimated $175,000 in damages at the Iowa Tribe Police Department in Oklahoma.

The fire started in a parking bay and destroyed everything there, including law enforcement equipment. Fire crews were able to stop the blaze from causing further damage to the main building.

"I would estimate we saved several hundred thousand dollars in dispatch equipment and structure," Perkins fire Chief Joe Barta told The Stillwater NewsPress.

Emergency calls that were previously routed to the tribe are now being sent to the the Stillwater police, the paper said.
