Menominee Nation bars concealed weapons on reservation

Concealed weapons are still illegal on the Menominee Nation despite a new Wisconsin state law, the tribal police department clarified.

Tribal law prohibits the carrying of concealed weapons and all weapons are prohibited in public buildings on the reservation. Firearms can be transported in vehicles but only if they are cased and unloaded.

The Concealed Carry Law, which went into effect on November 1, allows Wisconsin citizens to carry concealed weapons with a permit. So far, about 28,000 applications have been submitted and about 2,400 permits have been approved, The Appleton Post-Crescent reported.
