Washington tribal police officers involved in a fatal shooting

Police officers from two tribes were involved in a fatal shooting in Washington on Thursday.

The Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe and the Suquamish Tribe served a warrant on Stacy Stanley Callihoo, 42, at a home in Suquamish. As Callihoo was being taken into custody, another man, Thomas Anthony Black, 44, opened fire on the officers and he was killed.

Callihoo is a member of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe. Black's tribal affiliation, if any, was not reported.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office was also involved. The search warrant had been issued by the Port Gamble tribal court.
