Salazar to block uranium mining at Grand Canyon for 20 years

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is expected to announce a 20-year ban on new uranium mining claims near Grand Canyon National Park.

The moratorium covers an estimated 1.1 million acres of public forest land near the park. Some of the land has been targeted for development.

Tribes in the area oppose uranium development.
