Tigua Tribe seeing some restitution from Abramoff, partner

Years after being defrauded out of $4.2 million, the Tigua Tribe is finally seeing some restitution from Jack Abramoff and his partner in crime, Michael Scanlon.

But it isn't much. So far, the tribe has only recouped about $200,000, Lt. Gov. Carlos Hisa told The El Paso Times.

"There has been some money coming in from both -- more from Scanlon than Abramoff," Hisa told the paper.

Despite taking $4.2 million from the tribe, Abramoff and Scanlon reportedly only owe the Tiguas $1.85 million. Scanlon sought to have his restitution amount lowered but was rejected by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals in a January 20 decision.
