Tribes donate money to re-elect Rep. Don Young of Alaska

Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), the chairman of the House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs, has received over $50,000 in tribal contributions in the last four months, McClatchy Newspapers reports.

Tribes in Texas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Michigan, California and North Dakota were among the donors. Young also has support from Alaska Natives and Alaska Native corporations.

"It really is all looking very well for Congressman Don Young and the status quo," pollster Jean Craciun told McClatchy.

Young hasn't faced a strong Democratic opponent in years.
