San Manuel Band prepares to seat Carla Rodriguez as leader

Carla Rodriguez will be sworn in as the new chair of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians in California on April 16.

Rodriguez, 58, is the tribe's first new leader since 2008. She replaces her nephew, James Ramos.

“I don’t think there’s going to be any drastic changes,” Rodriguez told The Riverside Press-Enterprise.

Rodriguez will serve a two-year term.
