Two Navajo candidates running for New Mexico Senate seat

Two members of the Navajo Nation are campaigning for New Mexico Senate District 3.

Democrat John Pinto is the incumbent. At 87, he's the oldest member of the state Legislature, The Farmington Daily Times reports.

Matthew Tso, also a Democrat, wants to unseat Pinto. The 33-year-old ran into trouble last year after he was arrested for allegedly being intoxicated in public on the reservation.
