Hualapai Tribe to restore historic gas station on Route 66

The Hualapai Tribe of Arizona will restore and reopen a historic gas station on the reservation.

The John Osterman Gas Station was built by a Swedish immigrant in 1929. It closed a few years ago but the tribe plans to reopen it, making it one of the few historic Route 66 stations that still supplies fuel.

The site is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
