Navajo Nation suspends Matthew Tso from education position

The Navajo Nation suspended Matthew Tso from his job within the Department of Dine Education, The Farmington Daily Times reported.

Tso was suspended for a week as a legislative analyst. Reasons were not disclosed.

"Reasons for his suspension are a personnel matter," a spokesperson for Navajo President Ben Shelly told the paper.

Tso has been a controversial figure on the reservation. He's currently running for New Mexico State Senate and tried to get the Navajo incumbent off the ballot.

Tso was arrested last year after tribal police said they found him and a minor intoxicated in a vehicle. The case was dismissed.
