"The Department of Native American Studies at Montana State University in Bozeman has a number of $1,000 scholarships available to incoming Native students.

Walter Fleming, director of the MSU Department of Native American Studies, said that three of the scholarships are for entering freshman and one is available to entering Indian students in the Native American Studies masters program.

He said in general, the scholarships are open to Native students enrolled in a federally recognized tribe in Montana or are members of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa."
