Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes wait on trust settlement

The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of Montana are still waiting to receive a $150 million trust fund settlement.

The tribe reached a settlement with the Obama administration to resolve claims of trust asset mismanagement. Officials are now discussing what to do with the money.

"There is definitely no shortage of rumors flying around, but if anyone claims to know what the council will do, they are simply being hopeful or making it up," spokesperson Rob McDonald told the Associated Press.

McDonald said per capita payments were suggested by some tribal members.
