"Alyssa Chapman just couldn’t wait one more day to spend the money she had saved for fireworks.
So, on Monday, she visited the only fireworks stand open in Lincoln.
“I’m just glad there’s just at least one place that sells before the third,” the 11-year-old said.
Fireworks retailers in Lincoln are prohibited from selling until Tuesday, but one fireworks stand opened two days before. The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska opened its fireworks stand Sunday inside a garage near its office building at 1701 E St."
