Navajo Nation Council to take up Arizona water rights settlement

The Navajo Nation Council is in special session today to consider a settlement to a long-running water rights dispute in Arizona.

The agenda lists items related to S.2109, the Navajo-Hopi Little Colorado River Water Rights Settlement Act. The bill resolves the tribe's rights to the Little Colorado River.

The settlement also includes the Hopi Tribe, whose leaders narrowly voted to continue discussions to resolve the dispute.
