Bad River Band starts removal process for chair Michael Wiggins

Michael Wiggins, the chairman of the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians in Wisconsin, is being removed from office.
Wiggins said the tribal council's 4-2 to start removal proceedings came out of the blue.
“It’s minutiae, things like how I organize the agenda,” he told The Ashland Daily Press.
Other council matters declined to discuss specifics of the charges against Wiggins.
One, however, said the tribe's finances are not at issue.
Wiggins faces a hearing on August 15.
