Tribes in Kansas meeting at Native Nations Law Symposium

Tribes in Kansas will meet for the 12th Annual Native Nations Law Symposium tomorrow.

The Kickapoo Tribe is hosting this year's meeting. The featured speaker will be Jodi Gillette, the Senior Policy Advisor for Native American Affairs at the White House.

“We are looking forward to hearing from Ms. Gillette on Friday as she represents the Obama Administration’s position on Native American affairs before our symposium. Our tribal members and our symposium attendees will be very interested in her remarks," Kickapoo Chairman Steve Cadue said in a press release, WIBW reported.

The Kickapoo Tribe, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, the Sac and Fox Nation and the Iowa Tribe take turns hosting the symposium.
