The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota could see millions of dollars in revenue from alcohol sales, some members say

The Pine Ridge Reservation is dry but residents find a way to bring it in anyway. Some comes from the border town of Whiteclay, Nebraska.

"I think it would be good if they legalized alcohol on the reservation because the money will stay inside the tribe instead of Nebraska getting these guys rich," Jeff Big Crow Sr. told KELO-TV.

The tribe's law and order committee is asking the council to approve a referendum to allow alcohol sales. Revenues could fund detoxification and treatment facilities and youth prevention programs, Bruce Whalen, the committee's coordinator, told KELO.
