Crow Tribe reports results of primary vote for executive seats





The Crow Tribe of Montana held a primary election on Saturday.

Incumbent Chairman Cedric Black Eagle garnered enough votes to advance to the November 3 general election. But challenger Darrin Old Coyote, who currently serves as vice secretary, outpaced him by a tally of 1,503 to 1,150, The Billings Gazette reported.

For vice chairman, incumbent Calvin C. Jefferson will face Dana Wilson. For secretary, incumbent Scott Russell will face Alvin Not Afraid Jr.

Finally, Leon Old Elk and Shawn Back Bone will compete for the vice secretary post.
