Chris Wondolowski, Kiowa, named MVP in Major League Soccer






Chris Wondolowski, a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, was named Most Valuable Player by Major League Soccer today.

Wondolowski, 29, plays forward for the San Jose Earthquakes. He is first Native player to win the award.

Wondolowski was due to testify today at a Senate Indian Affairs Committee hearing on Native image and identity but was unable to attend due to the award ceremony.
