Amber Alert issued on Alaska Native woman who just gave birth

An Amber Alert was issued for an Alaska Native woman and her newborn infant.

Authorities said Monica Vasquez, 30, left the Alaska Native Medical Center with her two-day-old son before being discharged. It's believed both are in danger.

"We're concerned for her safety as well the safety of the child," Anchorage Police Department spokesman Lt. Dave Parker told The Anchorage Daily News.

Authorities have been searching the area since Tuesday afternoon.
