Stillaguamish Tribe grows economy with business investment

The Stillaguamish Tribe of Washington has invested $5 million in a local technology firm.

MicroGreen Polymers makes food and beverage containers from recycled plastic. The company will be adding 200 jobs this year thanks to the tribe's involvement.

"As the technology was explained to me, I realized that the MicroGreen goal is the same as the tribe's, to save the Earth for the next generation," Koran Andrews, the chief executive officer of the tribe's economic development corporation, told The Everett Herald.
