Obama acknowledges first Americans in immigration speech

President Barack Obama outlined his immigration reform proposal on Tuesday, acknowledging the first Americans in his speech.

Obama noted that most of the nation's population descends from immigrants or former slaves. "Unless you’re one of the first Americans, a Native American, you came from some place else, somebody brought you," he said in his speech in Las Vegas.

Obama's proposal would allow many of the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants to earn citizenship.
