Omaha Tribe to declare emergency over reservation water

The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska plans to declare a state of emergency due to water woes on the reservation, The Sioux City Journal reports.

Classes at the Omaha Nation Public School were canceled earlier this week after a water line broke. It was repaired but several leaks were discovered.

“When you have 400 kids in a building without plumbing, that’s not a good situation,” superintendent Tom Carlstrom told the paper.

The reservation is now under a boil water order.
