Northern Arapaho Tribe granted another permit to take eagles

The Northern Arapaho Tribe of Wyoming has been granted another federal permit to take eagles.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service permit runs from March 1 through February 2014, the Associated Press reported. However, it doesn't apply to the Wind River Reservation due to objections from the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.

That leaves the rest of Wyoming, which previously barred the taking of eagles. But a new state law allows falconers with permits to capture eagles so that could help the Northern Arapaho Tribe.

The tribe and and the Department of Justice are studying the law, the AP reported.
