Johnny Depp's Comanche language name means 'shapeshifter'

Actor Johnny Depp, who is reprising the role of Tonto in the film version of The Lone Ranger was adopted by a Comanche Nation family last year and given a name in the Comanche language.

Depp's name is Mah-Woo-Meh. It means "shapeshifter," the actor said.

"It was an honor beyond all honors," Depp told Entertainment Weekly.

Parts of The Lone Ranger were shot on the Navajo Nation and Laguna Pueblo. The film will be released July 3.
