Confirmation hearing June 12 for Yvette Roubideaux at IHS

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee has scheduled a confirmation hearing for Yvette Roubideaux to serve another term as director of the Indian Health Service.

Roubideaux, a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, joined the Obama administration in May 2009. On April 23, President Barack Obama nominated her for a second term.

The next day, Roubideaux went before the Senate Indian Affairs Committee to discuss her agency's fiscal year 2014 budget request. She faced criticism for a proposal to change the way contract support costs are funded in tribal self-determination contracts.

Roubideaux's confirmation hearing will take place at 2:30pm on Wednesday, June 12, in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building.

Committee Notice:
Nomination of Yvette Roubideaux to be Director of the Indian Health Service, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. (Reappointment) (June 12, 2013)
