A non-Indian rancher who has been charging a toll on a road that leads to the Hualapai Reservation in Arizona was arrested on Tuesday.

Nigel Turner, the owner of Grand Canyon Ranch, imposed the toll during the busy Memorial Day weekend. Tourists who wanted to visit the tribe's Grand Canyon Skywalk, a popular attraction, were told to pay $20 per adult, $10 for children and as much as $500 for a tour bus, according to news reports.

The dispute continued amid reports that Turner and his employees were outright preventing people from getting to the Skywalk. He was arrested after allegedly threatening a worker at a construction site for a new road to the reservation.

The tribe has called on the federal government to step in and resolve the dispute. Chairwoman Sherry Counts will be holding a press conference today in Las Vegas, the origin of many visits to the Skywalk.

Tribal members have been protesting Turner's roadblock.
