Washington, D.C., Mayor Vince Gray said the
Washington Redskins should change its name if the team wants to move back to the nation's capital.
The team is currently based in a Maryland suburb near DC. There's been talk of relocating the team to its namesake city but Gray said the mascot will be an issue.
“I think it has become a lightning rod, and I would be love to be able to sit down with the team … and see if a change should be made,” Gray told The Washington Post. “There’s a precedent for this, and I think there needs to be a dispassionate discussion about this, and do the right thing.”
