Native American Women Warriors march in inaugural parade

The Native American Women Warriors marched in the inaugural parade for President Barack Obama on Monday.

Mitchelene BigMan, a member of the Crow Tribe, started the group after she retired from 22 years in the U.S. Army. Her service included two tours in Iraq.

"We're like the heartbeat of America," BigMan told CBS News. "We're Native Americans. We're still here, and I think we're even stronger now than we were before."

Nearly 5,000 Native American women have served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, CBS reported.
