Three-year-old girl dies in drowning on reserve in Manitoba





A three-year-old girl died in a drowning incident on the Cross Lake First Nation in Manitoba while a second three-year-old girl was rescued.

Thomas Muswagon saw two girls floating in the Nelson River on Friday evening, CBC News reported. He jumped in and retrieved both girls but only one survived.

"Our prayers and our support will be with the family and we ask others to pray," Chief Garrison Settee told CBC.

It hasn't been reported how the girls ended up in the water.
