Letter: Justice elusive 10 years after Narragansett Tribe raid

Letter writer says justice remains elusive for the Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island, 10 years after the state's raid of the reservation:
It seemed fitting to have the story of the 2003 raid on the Narragansett Indian cigarette store alongside the story about the outrage that many felt over the acquittal of George Zimmerman since both stories deal with the longstanding oppression of minority groups.

Members of the Narragansett tribe speak about the raid that occurred 10 years ago as the latest in a series of racially motivated attacks on the tribe throughout their history. Tribal Councilman Randy Noka stated that "Until all people" in America are treated the same way, the phrase "all men are created equal" means little. Mr. Noka’s comments appear to reflect the sentiment of many people nationwide protesting the Zimmerman verdict as a sign that our justice system is broken.
