| Voters of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of
Montana are electing a new chairman today.
The tribe called a special election after Ken Blatt St. Marks was forced out of office in March. He was initially barred from running again but got on the ballot after filing a lawsuit in tribal court.
Five other candidates are also running. Included is Montana Sen.
Jonathan Windy Boy (D), who allegedly owes $146,598 to the Internal Revenue Service for unpaid taxes, The Helena Independent Record reported.
"It's going to be squared away," Windy Boy told the paper.
