A six-year-old boy who was fatally injured on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation in Saskatchewan is being laid to rest on Friday.

Lee Allan Bonneau went missing last Wednesday evening. He was found after a 90-minute search with serious head injuries, according to news reports.

Lee was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities have ruled it a homicide.

"As you can imagine, our community is in a state of disbelief and shock," Chief Sheldon Taypotat said in a report that was aired on Aboriginal People's Television.

Residents told APTN off camera that a child is suspected in Lee's death.
