IHS tells clinics to expand access to emergency contraception





The Indian Health Service is expanding access to emergency contraception.

The IHS issued a verbal directive to clinics to dispense Plan B without a consultation or prescription, the Associated Press reported. A written policy is still being drafted.

Advocates for Native women have been pushing IHS to finalize the policy.
