Saginaw Chippewa Tribe to hold reburial ceremony for ancestors





The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan will hold a reburial ceremony on Friday.

The tribe is bringing 126 ancestors and associated funerary objects back to the reservation, according to a press release. They will be reburied during the Recommitment to the Earth Ceremony at the Nibokaan Ancestral Cemetery.

The ceremony will be followed by a Journey Feast at the Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeways.
