Oregon tribe schedules public meetings on proposed land swap

The Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians in Oregon will hold public meetings next week to discuss a proposed land swap.

The tribe is seeking the return of 14,500 acres of ancestral territory. The land is currently overseen by the Bureau of Land Management.

The public can comment on a draft proposal of the land transfer.
