BIA announces consultation meetings for tribal transportation

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has scheduled three consultation sessions to discuss transportation issues.

The BIA wants input on a draft regulation for the Tribal Transportation Program, previously known as Indian Reservation Roads. Topics of discussion will include a new funding formula that was created by Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) and a national inventory of roads, bridges and other transportation facilities in Indian Country and in Alaska Native villages.

The meetings will take place May 14 in Anchorage, Alaska; May 16 in Phoenix, Arizona; and May 21 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Additional sessions are in the works.
