Crow Tribe reaches deal for oil development on reservation
The Crow Tribe of Montana signed an agreement for oil development on the reservation.
The tribe is leasing 16,300 acres to Blue Water Petroleum. The tribe will receive an upfront payment of $10 per acre plus a 16.6 percent production royalty on any oil produced.
Blue Water hopes to start drilling by the end of the year, the Associated Press reported.
