Every year, a non-profit builds a home for a family on the Navajo Nation. DesignBuildBLUFF is based in Utah. Architecture students from the University of Utah help design and construct the homes, which are often made with unique materials. Lorraine Nakai, a tribal activist, is a recipient of one of the homes. She was living in a run-down cottage on the Utah portion of the reservation when the non-profit reached out to her. “This transformation continues to seep in,” Nakai told The New York Times. “It still amazes me that this house is mine.” Get the Story:
