Grand Traverse Band to reinstate employees for gun incident

The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians in Michigan will reinstate employees who were involved in a gun incident, The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports.

Six Natural Resources Department employees were terminated after they were seen shooting a gun near a tribal building. An appeal hearing was held on Tuesday but the tribal council agreed to settle the case, an attorney said.

"We are now finalizing issues of compensation," Craig Elhart, who represented the employees, told the paper.
