Coeur d'Alene Tribe to erect teepee at historic gathering place

The Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho will be erecting a 20-foot tall teepee at a historic village by Lake Coeur d'Alene.

The site, on the north edge of the lake, is known as Yap-Keehn-Um, or "The gathering place." It was the summer home of the tribe.

The tribe owns the southern third of the lake.
